During Derived Grade Exam week the International students get the opportunity to go off site and
enjoy some outdoor activities.
This term we have had a zoo visit to see kiwis and tuatara, and an across farmland horse trek.
Weather permitting , we will be kayaking in the lagoon and taking a walk around Red Rocks too.
The zoo is in the process of rebuilding the kiwi house, so unfortunately we didn’t get to see any
birds. Homestay sisters came with the group, and it was a fun day with the opportunity to pet sheep
and kangaroos. The weta boxes always get a good reaction!
The Southerly change in the weather came is as we set off on the horse trek. It is a challenging ride
for a beginner, but the students all managed as we rode up and down hills, through streams, and
paddocks with very large bulls watching us ride by.
