My name is Sarah Parkinson and I am privileged to be the Principal of St Mary’s College.  As an old girl of the school, and with both my grandmother and mother attending the college, St Mary’s College is a school that is close to my heart. 

As Principal, I aim to cultivate a faith-filled community that sets high expectations, that empowers students and that fosters respect for all.  With my background as a religious education teacher, I am deeply committed to faith based education and to bringing Catholicism alive for our students while also ensuring we deliver excellent educational opportunities across the curriculum. 

At St Mary’s, we are committed to being a place where students develop a love of learning and have the chance to achieve their personal best in many areas.  Inspired by our Mercy Values of Tika, Manaakitanga, Atawhai, Āwhinatanga and Pūaroha, we set our expectations high as we follow in the footsteps of those who have come before us, embracing the past while preparing for the future.

I am proud to lead the College now and to hold that special responsibility for ensuring a new generation of young women have a wonderful, purposeful and empowering experience here.
